March is a very exciting time for our dance team. This very month, in 2022, the J. Creek Cloggers went viral on TIKTOK from a random video made by a gentleman named Jason Jordan from Georgia. He was visiting Bryson City, NC, when someone mentioned the activities at Darnell Farms. Our team was performing and Jason asked for permission to video our dance.
Permission was granted and the rest is “history!” A quick upload to TIKTOK from Jason’s video brought the J. Creek Cloggers to the center of attention with over a billion views from all over the world! It has been a wild ride, especially for me, who had never been on a plane, let alone in an airport! Fast forward; I have visited states from California to Rhode Island, the beautiful state of Texas, and so many wonderful states in between! It was a first for the majority of our team to experience a plane ride and explore the states, and our journey has just begun!
On March 16, we commemorated our 2nd year of going viral by putting on a vibrant and action filled two hour performance at Darnell Farms! Guess what else we celebrated in the month of March? Zeb and Ashley became parents for the first time, with the birth of their baby girl, Maria, born on March 17, 2023. She turned a year old and is pictured below donning her sunglasses! We are truly blessed. Many of our dance team members have teenagers that dance on the team as well and we are proud of them for carrying on the tradition!
I have to say this dance team loves food and I am going to highlight one of the places: Winderjammer Surf Bar in Westerly, Rhode Island. I got the Surf and Turf Burger with lobster, and my eyes agreed with my taste buds, sensational! Meeting everyone, including the Governor, was a treat! The team was treated royally during our visit. We encouraged everyone to get up and dance with us, what a fun time! It was a trip to remember and we are counting the days for an encore!
